The Plot: (Spoilers)
10,000 Light-Year Binoculars is a story of an extraterrestrial girl who received a pair of binoculars from her parents on her birthday. She put it to good use, since the binoculars can see planets that are thousands of light years away. Of all the planets she had seen; she had taken notice of a human boy on earth, and became immediately smitten by him. She had observed him from afar with an affectionate gaze and set off to meet him. Though what she hadn’t accounted for was that the images she had seen were taken 10,000 years ago.
The Opinions:
Plot: I think it’s a bittersweet story of a young girl who has to face the reality of space time and how vast it is compared to her; especially when she travelled so far away from home on such a reckless ride to meet the human boy. My only issue with the story is unfortunately the ending; There’s such a strange plot hole that made me wonder, “How did the boy receive her letter?” For that, I truly don’t know how the letter travelled back in time. It still was a delightful one-shot, 9/10.
Art: I’m a fan of full colored stories, they’re such a delightful treat to look at; the style and coloring is very soft and it shows how beautiful the world around us can be. The pastel colors fit the girl very nicely, and I adored how the artist drew the earth and the the flora, it's so pretty! 10/10
